Pray For Elle

Elle's pediatrician was still hearing a heart murmur at her 1 month check up so we went to a cardiologist this week. After an EKG and an ultrasound, Elle was diagnosed with VSD (Ventricular Septal Defect) which means that Elle has a small hole in the lower chamber of her heart. According to the Dr. there is a 60% chance the the hole will close on its own. Please join us in prayer that the hole in Elle's heart will close.

Because the hole is small it should not cause any strain on her heart. If she had a medium or large hole she would probably need surgery so we are super grateful it is just a small hole. The Dr. was very clear that this defect will not negatively impact Elle's day to day life. She can be active and live a long "normal" life. The only hazard of the defect is the potential for Bacterial
Endocarditis which means that if Elle were to have surgery or dental work done she needs to take an antibiotic prior to the procedure.

Thank you in advance for your support and prayers!

Guys we will of course keep Elle in our prayers. Kevin has a friend from high school who's baby had to have surgery on their heart. If you want someone to chat with about it, let us know!

Love, Meg & Kevin
